Dr. Pavithra G was born in Bangalore and obtained her B.E. degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU). She completed her M.Tech. in ECE with specialization in RF Communications from Jain University, securing First Rank with Gold Medal, and earned her Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering Sciences from VTU, Belgaum, with research focused on biomedical image processing and its applications. She has nearly 18 years of teaching and research experience in various engineering colleges across Karnataka. Currently, she serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of ECE at Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering, Bangalore.
Dr. Pavithra has published more than 600 research papers in national and international journals and conferences, including Scopus, SCI, Web of Science, and UGC-indexed publications. She holds an H-index of 9 in Scopus with 147 documents and 340 citations, and in Google Scholar she has 815 citations, an H-index of 15, and an i10-index of 25. She has been an IEEE member for over 10 years and is a life member of ISTE, KSTA, and AMIEE. She has 55+ Indian and international patents, with several granted.
She has received multiple awards, including five national recognitions and the prestigious VGST Award for Research Publication in 2021. She has authored seven textbooks and won several best paper awards. She has secured 11 funded projects worth over ₹42 lakhs from agencies such as DST, MSME, VGST, and KSCST, including a DST-funded project on quantum computing for IoT security. She has guided more than 30 UG/PG projects, many receiving national recognition, and has conducted over 30 academic events and participated in 100+ workshops and conferences.
